SCOUT

Scout is a Spinone from Maryland.  She belongs to a young man (nephew of client) who is having a great time with his dog.  Before their trip down and out to the field to see me, Scout's only bird contact was at a NAVDA fun day in VA a few weeks prior.

This was my first opportunity to work with a Spinone and I loved every minute of it.  This is an AWESOME breed.  She moved and worked the field like she had been doing it for years.  Scout locked up on point right off and I exposed her to some pistol fire.  Not a problem at all.  So we stepped it up a little and steadied her with the check cord while her owner went in to flush and get some experience with the blank pistol.  Once she was holding well I downed a couple birds which she retrieved.
